Our Beekeeping

Bee cause It Matters…..

At the Cape Town Honey Company, we view beekeeping as a partnership with the ecosystems of the Western Cape. Our bee-centric practices align with the fynbos seasons, supporting the indigenous Cape honey bees and local pollinators. We carefully site apiaries with conservation-minded landowners, avoiding the overstocking of any areas with managed hives to protect biodiversity.

Our natural hive management minimises interference while monitoring hive health, and we harvest ethically to safeguard colonies through unpredictable seasons.

We help restore habitats by clearing invasive plants and educate communities about the vital role of pollinators. Each jar of honey reflects our commitment to preserving the fynbos and its pollinators for future generations.

Nurturing our Bees

Adhering to beekeeping practices that protect our bees.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Recyclable glass jars and biodegradable labels.

Planting bee forage

Tackling the forage crisis by planting bee friendly trees and plants.
We are registered beekeepers with the South African Department of Agriculture and members of the Western Cape Bee Industry Association. We promote biodiversity conservation in the areas where we keep our bees and aim for carbon-neutral honey production by 2028.
